Wells & Waves provides robust, field-proven semi-permanent solutions for DFOS and hybrid cables, allowing operators to continue using their existing electronic solutions, or to migrate progressively to optical equivalents. This approach offers the ability to capture significantly more data from a familiar deployment method — simply by incorporating DFOS.
Leading Semi-Permanent Solutions
Most often run on tubing, these installations have been the domain of electrical gauges. Now, with the application of distributed technologies and single point P/T gauges the opportunity to harvest more data from a single cable presents itself.
Running is the same as running an electronic gauge using field proven designs at the cable termination and at the wellhead, but the data gleaned from the fibre can show:
- Leaks
- GLV operation/failure
- Waxing
- Mud-line interface challenges
- SAGD ESP health monitoring for life optimization
- ESP intake and discharge pressures
- Fluid levels
A semi-permanent installation does not need a drilling rig and is easily performed after the drilling rig has gone, with a work over rig can easily run these systems. Offshore systems ran to the production packer, using fibre, can provide a lot more diagnostic data for surface analysis, production control and system integration such as PI/Historian.
